Benefits of Istigfar

 

All praise and thank belongs to Allah (SWT) . And peace be upon Rasulullah(SAW).
Istighfar is one of the most powerful dua. Istighfar means seeking forgiveness to Allah. Saying Astaghfirullah is an istighfar . Rasulullah (SAW) practice istighfar more than 100 times and emphasis to practice istighfar more and more to his ummah. That is why it is sunnah to practice istighfat.
Now we have to know some the benefits of istighfar. Benefits are given below :
Helpe to get the forgiveness of Allah
Istighfar is help to get the forgiveness of Allah (SWT).

But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance. (Surah Taha : 82)

Helpe to get the provision and extra favor of Allah
Istighfar is an wonderful way to opens the door of provision and extra favor.

And you must seek forgiveness from your Lord, then, turn to Him in repentance, and He will provide you with good things to enjoy for a given time, and bestow His extra favor on everyone who has extra good deeds (in his account). And if you turn away, then, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day. (Surah Hud: 3)
And said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send rain to you in abundance. And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers. (Surah Nuh: 10–12)

Helpe to safes from grievous penalty of Allah
Istighfar helps us to refrain from all forms of grievous penalty.

And Allah would not punish them while you (Muhammad SAW) are amongst them, nor will He punish them while they seek (Allah's) Forgiveness. (Surah Anfal : 33)

Helps to removes any sort of anxiety and Poverty
Istighfar is powerful tool that helps to get a way out of all sort of difficulties.

Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) said:
If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not. (Abu Dawud)
In another hadith, Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) said:
The one who (regularly) says Istighfaar, that is, frequently repent to Allah Ta’aala for sins committed, Allah Azza Wa-Jal will open a path from poverty and difficulties. All sorrow and hardship will be removed, and in its place prosperity and contentment granted. One will receive sustenance from unimagined and unexpected sources. (Abu Dawud)

Help to Being a Mustajab dua
One can make himself as a Mustajab Dua (whose dua is always accepted) by practicing more istighfar .

Rasulullah (SAW) said :
The one who seeks forgiveness for Muslim males and females from Allah Ta’aala twenty six or twenty five times every day, Allah Ta’ala will count that person among those whose Du’a is accepted, and through the barakah of whom those on earth gain Rizq (sustenance).
